Dutch semiconductor equipment manufacturer ASML has announced plans to significantly expand its workforce in Japan. According to the company's Japan unit chief, ASML intends to increase its headcount in the country to approximately 700 employees from the current 500, representing a 40 percent increase in staff. The expansion is aimed at supporting next-generation chipmakers operating in Japan, with a particular focus on assisting both Rapidus and TSMC in their advanced semiconductor manufacturing operations.
