Power Minerals (ASX:PNN) has reported significant rare earth oxide results from its Morro do Ferro Project in Brazil, demonstrating that high-grade mineralization extends beyond the area defined by initial drilling activities. The company reported 119 meters at 4.94% total rare earth oxides (TREO) from surface in hole MFSR-056, positioned 57 meters northwest of the original drilling baseline. A particularly notable interval within this intersection showed 10 meters at 12.31% TREO with 1.88% magnet rare earth oxides (MREO) from 41 meters depth.
The hole was specifically positioned to test mineralization geometry on the next section line and has provided crucial evidence supporting the company's interpretation of the deposit's extent. CEO Alistair Stephens stated that the result confirms high-grade mineralization continues beyond the area defined by initial drilling, describing it as the first result from the next drill section. Additional high-grade intervals from MFSR-056 include 6 meters at 8.91% TREO with 1.89% MREO from 92 meters depth, and 2 meters at 11.05% TREO with 2.27% MREO from 96 meters.
The drilling intersected continuous TREO mineralization from surface to at least 119 meters, including a 4.4-meter magnetite dyke from 59.5 meters containing 2,825 parts per million (ppm) TREO. Power Minerals received complete assay results for 42 samples from MFSR-056 following the initial announcement of results for 20 samples on September 29, 2026. The company has now completed 18 drillholes totalling over 3,000 meters at the project, with samples dispatched to SGS Geosol Laboratory for analysis.
Assays for several additional holes remain pending. The Morro do Ferro Project is located within a 300.72-hectare mining title in Minas Gerais state, approximately 13 kilometers southeast of Poços de Caldas. The deposit is hosted within the Poços de Caldas alkaline complex, which contains bastnasite and cerianite as the main rare earth-bearing minerals.
The results align with an exploration target announced on September 22, 2026, which indicated mineralization extends both vertically and to the northwest. The drillhole MFSR-056 was drilled to a total depth of 202.2 meters at a dip of 60 degrees to the southwest. Company management has shifted focus to defining the mineralization's geometry and extent while advancing metallurgical testwork and undertaking work required for a maiden mineral resource estimate.
