Precimeter has unveiled LynCor, a new hardware and software platform for automated molten metal level control, alongside the launch of LynCor ProH, its first laser camera sensor product built on this platform. The announcement was made at ALUMINIUM 2026, marking what the company describes as the next step in connected, reliable and efficient casthouse automation. The LynCor platform represents a significant development for the company, which has specialized in laser camera sensors since 1995.
According to Ivan Dejanovic, CEO of Precimeter, the launch builds on three decades of experience and provides a strong foundation for the next generation of molten metal level control automation. The platform combines hardware and software in a unified solution designed to address long-standing challenges in casting operations, including issues related to heat, slag, metal splashes and limited process visibility. The LynCor ProH sensor is engineered for precise, non-contact molten metal level measurement.
The device features up to two lasers for reliable measurements and includes integrated cooling and cleaning mechanisms to protect against heat, dust and interference. The modular design allows multiple combinations of clearing distance, measuring range and laser camera configuration, enabling deployment across various applications and installation conditions. Key technical features of LynCor ProH include built-in angle monitoring, advanced diagnostics and a web interface that provides operators with access to live camera streaming, calibration and health status without requiring additional software or hardware installation.
Firmware can be updated in the field, while camera frames and measurements are stored directly on the sensor. The software supports recording with advanced triggering options and offers browser replay and export functionality for troubleshooting and post-cast analysis. According to Jonatan Lindstrand, Global Sales Director, LynCor ProH brings together reliable level measurement, greater process visibility and flexible configuration in a single platform, helping casthouses simplify maintenance and reduce production stops.
Martin Lundh, Technical Manager, noted that the sensor combines modular design, live camera streaming and advanced diagnostics, with process recording and dual laser setups for measurement redundancy opening new possibilities for casthouse automation. The platform aims to shift casthouse operations from reactive to proactive approaches. Access to live images, sensor diagnostics and recorded events can help teams identify developing issues, investigate interruptions and make better-informed maintenance decisions.
With LynCor, connectivity and process insight are built into the foundation for future development across Precimeter's molten metal measurement and control offering. Pilot installations are currently underway with selected customers. The implementation process includes site assessments covering application requirements, mounting conditions and control system integration.
Commercial launch of LynCor products is planned for early 2027, with the company inviting close partners to participate in early rollout. Source: Precimeter press release published by AL Circle on October 7, 2026.
