Rackla Metals (TSX-V:RAK) has resumed active exploration at the Lentung Tungsten Project in Canada's Northwest Territories, marking a significant revival of the property after 44 years without exploration activity. The company, led by CEO and Director Simon Ridgway and Vice President of Exploration Scott Casselman, is now conducting diamond drilling operations at the site. According to the company's field update, Rackla has initiated a systematic exploration program that includes multiple key components.
Diamond drilling is currently underway with hole 14 in progress. The exploration team has digitised historical records from the property's previous work, establishing a foundation for validating past exploration efforts. A critical aspect of Rackla's exploration strategy involves twinning approximately 27 historic drill holes to verify historical data and re-evaluate the tungsten mineralization potential.
The company anticipates that assay results from the current drilling program will begin arriving within weeks, providing fresh geological insight into the property's resource potential. Rackla Metals is positioning itself as an active explorer of tungsten and gold projects across the Northwest Territories and Yukon. The revival of Lentung comes amid growing global interest in tungsten supply, particularly given supply chain concentration concerns and escalating demand from industrial and defence sectors.
The Lentung project represents a significant opportunity to reassess historical exploration data with modern drilling techniques and analytical methods, potentially unlocking value in a property that has remained dormant for over four decades.
